Ballyhea are Avondhu junior B hurling champions for the  second year in a row and the 7th time in our history  . This was a cracking  contest between two very committed teams .

Kilworth started well and led by 4-1 at the first water break . Ballyhea also lost Timmy Shanahan with an injury early in the game but  Inspired once again up front by Neil Ronan we gradually got  into the game and at half time we led 0-7 to 0-6. Playing some very determined hurling we led 1-11 to 0-9 at the final water break,  our goal coming from Diarmuid O’Shaughnessy after Neil Ronan’s initial effort had been stopped  .Although we had a let off just before the break when once again Gearoid O’Shea saved a penalty in a final . Kilworth did grab a goal early in the final quarter but Ballyhea answered back with a fine Jordan Morrissey point and went on to finish the game stronger with  three more points to ensure a well deserved victory. After the game Jack Barrett received the man of the match award . Barry Ahern chairman of the Avondhu board thanked both teams for a fine sporting game and due to the Covid regulations could not present the cup so he asked Ballyhea captain Stephen Dennehy to lift the Foxie O’Leary cup .
