After already losing out to Duhallow in the 1st Round, our minors were unable to advance in this years Premier County Championship.

Ballyhea 4-12 Blackrock 1-3 @ Ballyhea

The minors returned to winning ways last Monday night with this comfortable victory over the Rockies at Ballyhea in the County League. At half-time we led 0-6 to 1-1, Blackrocks goal coming in the 21st minute from a free. Maurice O' Sullivan had 4 of Ballyhea's first half points. A goal and 2 points from the same player stretched Ballyhea's lead early in the second half. A well taken goal from Kenneth O' Donoghue in the 41st minute and 2 late goals from Stephen O' Sullivan and John William O' Brien gave Ballyhea a handsome victory.

Ballyhea 0-9 Duhallow 0-12 @ Ballyclough

Duhallow had a 3 point victory over our minor hurlers recently. This game was entertaining and closely contested. Stephen O' Sullivan had an opening score for Ballyhea. Then points from Joey Herlihy and the outstanding Barry Coleman leavt Duhallow leading 0-4 to 0-3 at the break. Ballyhea have another chance with a back door game.

Ballyhea 2-12 Erins Own 1-11 @ Caherlag

Ballyhea had a well deserved win over a strong Erins' Own side at Caherlag. Ballyhea contested well throughout the first half and they had some excellent scores from Maurice O' Sullivan, Stephen O' Sullivan and Joey Herlihy. The half time score was Ballyhea 1-6 Erins Own 0-10. Ballyhea's backs then tightened up, limiting Erins Own to just 1-1 in the scond half. Ballyhea had further points from Maurice O' Sullivan and Joey and a well struck sideline from Danny O' Donoghue. A last minute goal from Kenneth O' Donoghue gave Ballyhea a 4 point victory

Ballyhea 2-15 Sarsfields 1-7 @ Ballyhea

The minors picked up their first league points of the campaign on Sunday with this victory over Sars at Ballyhea. Ballyhea led 0-7 to 0-2 at half-time with the aid of the breeze thanks to some excellent scores from Maurice O' Sullivan and solid play from the defence. Ballyhea led 0-8 to 0-3 when Sars goaled in the 40th minute to leave just 2 points between the sides. Ballyhea goalie David O' Riordan made 2 excellent saves and by the 45th min Ballyhea still held a 2 point sdvantage 0-10 to 1-5. Maurice O' Sullivan and Barry Coleman had points before 2 golas in the space of a minute from Stephen O' Sullivan settled the game as Ballyhea led 2-12 to 1-6 with 6 mins remaining. This was a great result for the minors and with the Championship game verses Duhallow about 4 weeks away this was an important result.

Ballyhea 1-8 Duhallow 2-8 @ Ballyhea

Played in very slippery conditions the minor hurlers went under to divisional side Duhallow last Saturday eveing. Duhallow led 0-7 to 0-4 at Half Time. 2 early goals in the second half put Duhallow well clear but Ballyhea fought back well and a goal from Edward Rea in the 50th Minute brought Ballyhea back to within 2 points, but Duhallow had a late point to run out winners.

Ballyhea 2-5 Bandon 3-4 @ Ballyhea

A late rally from the Bandon Boys which yielded a goal and a point saw them snatch victory on Sunday Morning in beautiful sunshine at Ballyhea. We led at half time 2-3 to 1-2 thanks to well taken goals from Edward Rea and Neil Buckley. The second half was very even with Trevor O' sullivan pointing in the 33rd minute to stretch our lead. Bandon pulled back a gola from a free in the 49th min. With time virtually up ballyhea led 2-5 to 2-3 nut Bandon goaled after David O' Riordan had made a fine save and they added a late point to capture the spoils.
