North Cork U-21 "A" Championship Semi Final

BALLYHEA 3-13 CHARLEVILLE 1-10 (22/09/02)
Played At | Milford.

Ballyhea are back in a North Cork U-21 Hurling Final after a gap of 6 years. Played on an excellent Milford pitch, Ballyhea started brighly and after 3 minutes Timmy Shanahan rattled the Charleville net.

Points from Conor Condon (2), Brian O' Shaughnessy and Maurice O' Sullivan put Ballyhea 1-4 to 0-0 ahead after 14 minutes. By the 18th minute Ballyhea led 1-5 to 0-2 before Conor Condon goaled when he brilliantly flicked home from Maurice O' Sullivan's sideline cut. Charleville rallied after this but Ballyhea still led 2-6 to 0-6 at Half-time.

Ballyhea maintained this 6 point advantage throughout the second half and when Timmy Shanahan goaled with 6 minutes remaining our place in the final was secure.

Ballyhea now meet either Mallow, Kilworth or Newtown in the final which will probably be played in 3 weeks time.
