The footballers went under to Churchtown despite a spirited performance last Friday night at Buttevant. This was a very young side with the hurlers preparing for the replay. Ballyhea had the lions share of possession but just could not score and half time we trailed 0-6 to 0-0. Again the second half we could not make the break through with Kevin Hanley coming closest to scoring a
goal early in the second half. Dave Hickey pointed a free in the 38th min. Churchtown finally goaled in the 48th min after a defensive error and they added 3 late points as our brave effort petered out. Despite defeat this was a gutsy performance
from a very experimental side. We had some fine performances from Conor Condon, Dave Hickey, Kenneth O' Donoghue, Ger Daly and Kieran O' Riordan.
